PERBEDAAN PENGETAHUAN SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH PENYULUHAN TENTANG HIPERTENSI PADA LANSIA DI DESA PESUCEN, BANYUWANGI TAHUN 2017
Background: High blood pressure disease known as hypertension is a disease that gets attention from all circles of society
Prevalence of hypertension disease in East Java Province amounted to 26.2%, even exceeding national prevalence. Green
theory states that human behavior is influenced by knowledge as a predisposing factor. Knowledge is the result of knowing
that occurs after a person makes sense to a particular object. Knowledge is also obtained naturally and planned through
the process of education. With good knowledge, then one's behavior tends to behave in a positive direction. The purpose
of this study was to determine a difference in pretest and posttest knowledge about hypertension after intervention in old
people in Pesucen Village Banyuwangi.
Methods: This research is a quantitative pre-experiment research with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research
was conducted in July of 2017 in Pesucen Village working area of Kelir Public Health Center, Banyuwangi. The population
in this study is all elderly people who are more than 40 years old in the village of Pesucen, Banyuwangi. Samples were
taken by purposive sampling, with criteria of elderly people who come in location of intervention, is as much as 202 people.
Data collection techniques through questionnaires. Analysis data is done by comparing pretest and posttest with T test
paired samples, given treatment (treatment) about knowledge of hypertension.
Results: The results showed that there was a difference of knowledge before and after intervention in old people in Pesucen
Conclusion: This suggests that intervention activities have contributed to increased knowledge of participants of
