  • Jurnal Bahana Kesehatan Masyarakat (Bahana of Journal Public Health) receives scientific articles about results of research, reviews of research results, methodologies or new approaches of health research relevant to health services.
  • Only articles which are not published yet or will not be published in other media will be accepted.
  • The manuscript can be written in English or Indonesian, with an abstract in both language.
  • The manuscript of a research result should be written in a systematical order consisting of: title, the name of the author(s), affiliations and author correspondence, abstract accompanied with keywords, introduction (informing the background, literature review, and problem statement or the objective of the research), materials and methods, result, discussion, conclusion, recommendation and references.
  • The length of the text is less than 3000 words excluding tables and figures for Original Article and less than 6000 words including tables and figures for review article.
  • The title of manuscript should be short and informative, consisting of 18 words maximum. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
  • Author names and affiliations. The names of authors should be written in full accompanied by the name of the agency or institution and address of the author(s). Clearly indicate the email address of the author who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication.
  • The abstract can be written in English and Indonesian and should be short but informative, consisting less than 250 words and accompanied by 3 to 5 key words for making indexing purposes. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the methods, the principal results and major conclusions. A structured abstract is required for Original article and the format should consist of four sections, labeled “Background”, “Methods”, “Results” and “Conclusions”. An abstract is often presented separate from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, References should be avoided. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.
  • State the objectives of the work in Introduction and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results. Material and methods. Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference, only relevant modifications should be described. Results and Discussion. Results should be clear and concise, followed by discussion which should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature. Conclusions. The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section.
  • Tables and figures. Ensure that each tables and figures has a caption and put all the tables and figures at the end of the articles (after reference). Place footnotes to tables below the table body and indicate them with superscript lowercase letters. Avoid vertical rules. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in tables do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. The total of tables and figures are within 8 combined.
  • References. Jurnal Bahana Kesehatan Masyarakat (Bahana of Journal Public Health) uses Vancouver (superscript) reference style. Main and updated resources are recommended. Citation of a reference as "in press" implies that the item has been accepted for publication and a copy of the title page of the relevant article must be submitted. For web references, as a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed.
  • We recommend you to use reference manager tool such MendeleyEndNoteZoteroetc to manage reference in the manuscript.
