The Impact of Classical Music and Traditional Balinese Music on Reducing the Pain of Maternity
Background : Pain is perceived maternal physiological, but sometimes cause discomfort, especially during contractions. One effort to reduce labor pain by listening to music. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of classical music and traditional Balinese music therapy on pain intensity active phase of the first stage of labor at maternal health center Dauh Puri in 2013 and the first Community Health Center of East Denpasar.
Metode : The study was a pre - post test control group design. Large sample of 27 people with consecutive sampling technique. Hypothesis testing used t-test paired the music of traditinal Bali since the data were normally distributed , whereas classical music and control the Wilcoxon test was used because the data are not normally distributed. Further analysis of variance test ( ANOVA ) with the value of p = 0.000, followed by the Mann Whitney test with a result between classical music and control group p = 0.001, Traditional Balinese music group with the control value of p = 0.020.
Conclusion : It showed no difference in labor pain after listening to Mozart classical music than the control group, as well as listening to the music of traditional Bali than the control group.
