Latar Belakang: Berdasarkan hasil RISKESDAS tahun 2013 Prevalensi gizi berat kurang di atas angka prevalensi provinsi Jambi yaitu 14,0 persen. Enam kabupaten/kota memiliki prevalensi gizi berat kurang di atas angka prevalensi provinsi Jambi dari yang tertinggi sampai terendah adalah (1) Muaro Jambi, (2) Sungai Penuh, (3) Batang Hari, (4) Sarolangun, (5) kota Jambi dan (6) Kerinci. Kabupaten Muaro Jambi adalah salah satu Kabupaten dengan jumlah gizi sangat kurang yang perlu mendapat perhatian dari 26.067 balita, terdapat kasus gizi kurang 124 (0.47%) balita, dan gizi sangat kurang adalah 17 (0.65%) balita. Jumlah balita yang ada di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dari 26.067 menunjukkan angka cakupan gizi kurang terbanyak terdapat di Puskesmas Penyengat Olak yaitu 36 (2.93 %) dan gizi sangat kurang 2 (0.45 %)2.
Metode: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat deskriptif dengan rancangan cross sectional (potong lintang). Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2017, di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Penyengat Olak. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu yang memiliki balita di wilayah Puskesmas Penyengat Olak berjumlah 1.125 orang. Pengambilan sampel secara proporsional random Sampling. Sampel berjumlah 91 ibu balita. Pengumpulan data dengan melakukan pengukuran antropometri BB dan TB dengan membandingkan tabel BB/TB dari WHO-2005, 6serta pengisian kuesioner menayakan pada ibu tentang pola makan dan dampak penyakit infeksi. Pengolahan data menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariat.
Keimpulan: Hasil penelitian terdapat gizi kurus 15 orang (16.5 %), dan gizi normal terdapat 76 orang (83.5 %), menderita penyakit infeksi 42 (46.2 %) dan tidak pernah menderita penyakit infeksi 49 ( 53.8 %) pola makan kurang baik 15 (16.5 %) dan pola makan baik 76 (83.5 %) Ada hubungan penyakit infeksi dan pola makan dengan status gizi balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Penyengat Olak Kabupaten Muaro Jambi tahun 2017.

Abstrack

The correlative determinants of nutritional status in children under five age in Penyengat Olak Publich Health Centre Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi City Background: According to the result of RISKESDAS 2013, prevalence of underweight nutrition in Jambi Province is 14 %. There are six regencies or citie in Jambi are inclusive in the highest prevalence , continuum from higher to lower are : (1) Muaro Jambi, (2) Sungai Penuh, (3) Batang Hari, (4) Sarolangun, (5) Jambi City and (6) Kerinci. Muaro Jambi regency is one of the top highest regencies with the prevalence of underweight nutrition which should be taken into account. From the population of 26.067 children under five age, there are 124 (0.47%) underweight children and 17 (0.65%) children with very underweight. Based on the 26.067 children under five age in Muaro Jambi regency show that the higher case of underweight is in Penyengat Olak Public Health Centre, which is 36 (2.93 %) and very underweight is 2 (0.45 %).
Methode:This study was quantitative research with cross sectional design. It was performed in Juli 2017 in Penyengat Olak Public Health Centre. The population of research were mothers who have children under five age, 91 mothers were choosen as samples, and were taken by simple random sampling. Data were collected by using antropometri of weight and height measurement and plot it into table of weight to height from WHO-2005. We administered a questionnaire to ask mothers about dietary habit and impact of infectious disease. Data were calculated by univariat and bivariat analysis.
The results are 15 (16.5 %) children who are underweight, and 76 (83.5 %) children have normal nutritional status, 42 (46.2 %) children suffer from infectious disease dan 49 ( 53.8 %) children never get infectious disease. Children with unhealthy dietary habit are 15 (16.5 %) and 76 (83.5 %) children have good dietary habit. There is a correlation between infectious disease and dietary habit with nutritional status of children under five age in Penyengat Olak Public Health Centre, Muaro Jambi Regency in 2017.
